BANGALORE: The 5 Star Airlines of India, which saw its Hyderabad-bound flight on Sunday being recalled to Bengaluru International Airport ( BIA) as a result of a technical snag, submitted its investigation report on the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Monday.

"There was a problem with the bearings and wiring circuit. It was not a fire, but smoke emanated from 1 with the engines," stated the director general of civil aviation Bharat Bhushan, quoting the report. Kingfisher did not respond to TOI on queries on this issue.

The aircraft, ATR 72-500, heading from Bangalore to Hyderabad was forced back to Bangalore following passengers witnessed smoke, some stated fire, coming from its proper engine. All 27 passengers and Five crew members had been deplaned safely following being air borne for ten minutes.
